District I Event

Hello Everyone:

Well it is a sad day in Atlanta—and in ABWA—there is no doubt about it.  As the District I Vice President, I am truly at a loss for words; because you see my mentor and friend has made her final approach.  And, she has touched so many of us—It is hard to believe she is gone.  For what she stood for not only in the world but Yes, within our Association, she would tell us – GET BUSY—GET YOUR ENERGY UP—AND GET GOING AS YOU HAVE MUCH WORK TO DO!!!  So PAT MALONE, Thank YOU for all that you have done to move Women forward, for me and for the members of ABWA!!!

And, so our journey continues--What a wonderful time I am having serving as your District I Vice President.  I have fallen in love with being District I VP and Yes, I mentioned that to Lynn Drowne last week that she has quite a ride ahead as she is awaiting her turn to serve you.  You have given me memories that will last a lifetime.  All of you in your unique way have been truly amazing.

Several things you’ve taught me that I’d like to share are: In the face of adversity always go to the mission statement and you will never go wrong.  Try to see both sides to find a middle ground compromise.  Consider mistakes as Lessons Learned.   Adjust using lessons learned and move forward.

Education is so very important.  It not only makes you more productive; more marketable in the business world; it also helps us build a better Association.  When deciding how to budget for the “New Year”—consider the “Best Practices” of educating your Chapter/Network Members.  Make educating your members a priority for your chapter/network.  You will reap the rewards of having a more viable stronger team of ladies to learn and grow together.

Enjoy your Labor Day and end of summer activities and I will see you in Covington October 2 – 4.

What we continually strive to do—now that’s ABWA!

Your District I Vice President,
Janet Allison
